• Observe animal habitats

• Make new friends

Girl Scout Tree Promise Girl Scouts is joining forces with the Elliott Wildlife Values Project and American Forests to launch a bold tree-planting initiative. We’re setting out to plant 5 million trees by 2026. Not only is this great for wildlife, it’ll also provide tangible climate solutions. Girl Scouts everywhere are being called to help by planing, protecting and honoring trees in their backyards, communities, states and across the country. From Daisies and Ambassador Girl Scouts to adult members and community partners, every member and friend of our movement is being asked to join together to support Girl Scout Tree Promise. Five million trees are a lot of trees, but together, we can do it!

Join the mission to protect the planet from the effects of climate change. Learn more at girlscouts.org/treepromise.

Robotics Hello! I’m Juliette Bowbot and this is my dog Patches. We’ve been part of the robotics program at Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri since I was in Kindergarten! You can be a part of a robotics team at every Girl Scout level, from Daisies through Ambassadors!

Meet a Daisy Robotics Troop!

Troop 2138 is a Daisy troop with members attending Kindergarten and first grade in the Pattonville and Ritenour school districts.

Through robotics, we’ve learned how to design, build and program LEGO robots. Once I’m in 7th grade, we can even work with metal robots! Girls on our robotics teams learn more about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through fun, exciting hands-on activities. What would I do on a Robotics team? You can do so many things! As a team member, you will • Learn about designing, building and programming robots with your teammates • Get creative by making a team poster and even designing your own shirts • Earn robotics badges—every year girls also receive a special robotics patch

They are very excited to participate in the Girl Scout Robotics program! Through their participation in Girl Scout robotics, they will learn valuable life and employment skills by creating ideas, solving problems and overcoming obstacles.

How can I get started? Start by asking other girls your age if they are interested in robotics! This could be members of your troop, friends from camp or other girls that you know. They don’t need to be involved in Girl Scouts as long as they become a registered Girl Scout when they join the team. You can learn more by emailing Miss Lauren at lkornegay-dollar@girlscoutsem.org or Miss Brooke at bstochl@girlscoutsem.org. How can I learn more? There is more information about the robotics program on our website, girlscoutsem.org/robotics . On our page, we even have a video of our Girl Scouts in action with their very own robots!

Gold Award Candidate Training

Completing a Girl Scout Journey is a prerequisite to earning a Girl Scout Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. The Journeys let girls experience what they’ll do as they work to earn Girl Scouting’s highest awards— discover an issue they’re passionate about, connect with experts in their community, and take action to make the world a better place. The skills girls gain while working on Journeys will help them develop, plan and implement Take Action projects for their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. This summer we are offering a plethora of Journey programs. Flip to pg. 18 for our complete list of programs and details on completing a Girl Scout Journey.

This course is for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest community service award a high-school-aged girl can earn. Currently the Gold Award Candidate Training is offered online. Training can be found at: girlscoutsem.org/highestawards . Girls can complete the training at any time.
