Our Program Philosophy We believe everything that happens at Girl Scout Camp is part of the camp experience. Our campers grow through many different adventures during their stay. They try new things, build confidence and make new friends. They also spend time away from their families in a new environment. While at camp, they learn to be part of a community, to make decisions together, and to take responsibility for their actions and surroundings. They participate in “kapers” to keep camp areas clean and beautiful, share responsibilities at mealtimes and cook outs and support each other through new challenges and amazing adventures.

In our safe and supportive environment, campers become active and engaged participants in the learning process!

Ways to Get Outdoors As a Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri member, you have access to Overnight, Day and Troop Camp options that offer their own brand of adventure and innovative programming. When a Girl Scout participates in camp, they have room to explore, play and grow, while finding their strengths and challenging themselves along the way!

Troop Camp Girl Scout Troop Camp is a year round opportunity for Girl Scouts in troops to experience camping with their friends and leaders. Troops can access everything our camps offer and make the adventure all their own! Certified Activity Staff are available on select weekends throughout the year, allowing leaders to have fun with their troop, while the activities are taken care of by trained professionals.

Day Camp Girl Scout Day Camps are an excellent option for first-time campers and busy families. With activities ranging from DIY projects to exploring the night’s sky, there is something for everyone! At Day Camp, campers enjoy meeting new friends and participating in a variety of new challenges. Sessions are run by volunteers and are held throughout the region.

Overnight Camp Girl Scout Overnight Camps are experiences ranging from a few days to a few weeks, offering campers equestrian and specialty camp options. Girl Scouts have an immersive outdoor experience where they learn teamwork, perseverance and self-discovery in an encouraging environment.

Overnight Camp opportunities begin on pg. 12.

Day Camp opportunities begin on pg. 10.

Troop Camp opportunities start on pg. 30.

Welcome Home, Campers

Camp Tuckaho Located in Troy, Mo., this camp is nearly 600 acres of beautiful forest. Here, older Girl Scouts build leadership skills by participating in high adventure challenges and all campers enjoy a variety of hands-on activities at the Anheuser-Busch Nature Center.

Camp Fiddlecreek Located in Labadie, Mo., our smallest camp is nestled on 83 acres. Girl Scouts of all ages love this camp for its rich history and wide variety of activities. A climbing wall and zipline are thrilling adventures for second through 12th grade Girl Scouts, in addition to a spider net climber, which can be enjoyed by all ages.

Girl Scout Outdoor Experiences— For All Girls, Everywhere

Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri offers our members high quality programming at affordable prices, including summer camp. In general, the cost to deliver our programs is more than the fee that we charge to participate. We are able to keep the fees reasonable with the amazing support of the Treats & Reads Program, the Girl Scout Cookie Program and donations to our Gifts for Girls Annual Fund. We also offer financial assistance for membership fees, programs, including camp and uniforms so that ALL girls have access to the full breadth of the Girl Scout experience.

Thank you for all that you do! Please consider making a gift to the Gifts for Girls Annual Fund at

girlscoutsem.org/giftsforgirls so that we can continue to make these experiences accessible to girls across our region.

Meet Our Camp Directors

Ana Ripp (Casper), Senior Manager Camp Tuckaho Ana Ripp has worked at Girl Scout camps since 2015, and has been with Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri since March 2023. Starting in Girl Scouts (and in camp) as a Daisy, she is now a lifetime member, Gold Award Girl Scout, and troop leader. She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and is excited to share that knowledge and previous experiences with campers in Camp emPower. “Hi Campers! I can’t wait to see you out at Camp Tuckaho. I am super excited about our new camps this summer, and being able to share my favorite camp activities like sailing, our ropes courses, and backpacking with you! One of my favorite parts about Camp Tuckaho is getting to see all the deer enjoying the cooler mornings on my way to breakfast.” Ally Roehl (Rudolph), Senior Manager Camp Cedarledge Ally Roehl has worked for Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri for five years. As the Senior Manager of Camping Programs for Camp Cedarledge, she loves to share her joy for the outdoors with Girl Scouts of all ages. Ally is a Gold Award Girl Scout and a lifetime member. Hi Campers! I can’t wait for you to come out to Camp Cedarledge to see me and all the great staff this summer. We have a lot of new programs and activities and I’m excited for you to try them. I’m hoping to complete the 7-UP challenge this summer— if you’re willing to go with me let me know! I don’t have as much time to make friendship bracelets during the summer, like you do, but I would love to trade with you. Or, if you don’t know how to make one I could show you. It is going to be an awesome summer, see you soon!”

Trefoil Rewards

Earn your way to summer adventures with the Girl Scout Cookie Program!

Trefoil Rewards

When a Girl Scout earns Trefoil Rewards through meeting cookie goals, they can use it in one of several ways: • Choose an eligible program during summer 2024 and Trefoil Rewards covers the entire fee (be sure to register when programs open though!) • Apply it as a discount for a summer 2024 program with a higher fee • Choose to carry the full 2024 Trefoil Rewards over to 2025

Selling 290 packages of cookies = One Trefoil Reward

Selling 510 packages of cookies = Two Trefoil Rewards

Selling 1,000 packages of cookies = Three Trefoil Rewards

How Do Trefoil Rewards Work? 1. Girl Scout registers for desired summer 2024 program and pays any applicable deposit, which we recommend doing when registration opens, as programs fill up quickly. 2. Girl Scout participates in the Girl Scout Cookie Program and sells enough packages to earn up to three Trefoil Rewards. 3. In March, we will send an email and postcard to all earners with information about how to apply Trefoil Rewards. 4. Parent/adult must submit Trefoil Rewards Acceptance Form by April 24 for June programs, by May 24 for July programs and by July 24 for all other programs. 5. Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will apply Trefoil Rewards to program balances beginning in April 2024.

Trefoil Rewards earners must submit Trefoil Rewards Acceptance Form by stated deadlines in order to use their rewards!

Be on the lookout for the trefoil icon throughout the Camp Adventure Guide indicating camps, programs and travel adventures that qualify for Trefoil Rewards.

8 2023 Camp Adventure Guide

Frequently Asked Questions Q. My troop opted out of cookie rewards. Can I still earn Trefoil Rewards? Yes! Girl Scouts in opt-out troops may still earn Trefoil Rewards. Q. Can I transfer my earned Trefoil Rewards to another Girl Scout? Trefoil Rewards may only be used by the Girl Scout who earned them and are not transferrable. Financial assistance is available to families with a need. Q. Will earning Trefoil Rewards give me priority registration for a program? Trefoil Rewards do not guarantee a spot in any program or allow for priority registration. All programs are first-come, first-served. Q. Registration for programs opens in December, but the Cookie Program isn’t done until March. Won’t most programs be full by then? Summer programs do fill up quickly. We strongly recommend you register for your desired program(s) once registration opens in December to secure your spot or get on the wait list. Once you receive the link to accept your Trefoil Rewards in March, you will check the box for the programs you have already signed up for and for which you want to apply your Trefoil Rewards. We will apply them to program balances in April, which may result in a refund for any deposit you already paid. Q. Can Trefoil Rewards be used for program deposits? Trefoil Rewards may not be used for program deposit fees or for events hosted by outside organizations. You must still pay the deposit to demonstrate program commitment and secure your spot. Q. Will you automatically apply any Trefoil Rewards to a balance? No. You must complete the Trefoil Rewards Acceptance Form. This link will be provided in the email and postcard communication that goes out in March. Q. Some of the programs don’t show themselves as eligible for rewards. Can I use my Trefoil Rewards toward one of these? Yes. You can apply your earned Trefoil Rewards as a discount toward one of these higher-fee programs, including LEAP, up to the maximum tier 1 program fee for other programs in that Trefoil Rewards tier.

Q. What if I don’t register until the later tiered pricing? We recommend registering your Girl Scout when the price is lower. If your Girl Scout earns one or two Trefoil Rewards and you are registering for a three-Trefoil Rewards program, you can apply the appropriate discount to the camp price at time of registration. If your Girl Scout earned three Trefoil Rewards, you must pay any portion of the fee over $415. Q. Can my Girl Scout carry over Trefoil Rewards? We realize that a Girl Scout’s preferred program may fill up quickly, or a Girl Scout joins later in the year and misses the earlier chance to register for camp. The Trefoil Rewards program allows for a one-year carryover. The carryover must be requested using the Trefoil Rewards Acceptance Form by Sept. 15, 2024. Q. If I don’t use all my Trefoil Rewards, can I carry them over? Trefoil Rewards are not gift cards and have no cash value. No remaining balances will exist to be applied to another program or carried over. Any use of Trefoil Rewards in a given year makes them ineligible to carry over. Q. How do discounts work if I have a returning camper/multi-camp discount? If you have a returning camper/multi-camp discount, the Trefoil Rewards discount would be applied to the cost of camp after the other discount has been applied.

One Trefoil Rewards Discount: 25% up to $130 Two Trefoil Rewards Discount: 45% up to $245 Three Trefoil Rewards Discount: 65% up to $415

2024 Day Camps Day Camps are the perfect option for busy summer schedules! Girl Scouts will have fun in the sun playing team-building games, singing songs, exploring nature and even getting a little messy in the great outdoors. Led by volunteers throughout our council, Day Camps help campers explore their unique communities at a variety of sites, including state and local parks, community centers and Girl Scout camps.

Volunteer All Day Camps are planned and staffed by volunteers— consider serving in a volunteer role this summer! When you or another adult family member volunteer full-time, your Girl Scout gets to attend for half price and the Day Camp can accommodate more campers. When you volunteer part-time, your Girl Scout is guaranteed a place in camp. Volunteer needs to be a registered Girl Scout member and must complete a background check. Fill out a volunteer application at girlscoutsem.org/daycamp . Volunteer discounts will be applied following the conclusion of the Day Camp and verification by the Director. Payments should be made in full and a refund will be provided. Waitlist Capacities are based on the number of volunteers to maintain the adult-to-girl ratio. Campers come off the waitlist as more volunteers are secured. Campers on the waitlist are subject to the same refund policy as those who have been accepted into the program. Refunds A written request must be provided to the Answer Center two weeks prior to the start of the program to receive a refund. No refunds will be given if a camp session is dismissed early or begins late due to unforeseen extreme weather conditions.

Patch A 2024 Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Day Camp Patch is included in the cost of registration. Some camps offer Day Camp-specific patches and T-shirts for an additional cost. Grade Levels Register your Girl Scout in the unit according to 2023-2024 grade in school. Confirmation Letters Since each camp has a unique theme and program activities, confirmation letters are sent from the volunteer directors of each camp at least two weeks prior. Trefoil Rewards Girl Scout Day Camps are eligible for Trefoil Rewards, turn to pgs. 8-9 for all the details. Aides We are looking for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors interested in helping at Day Camp. To become a Day Camp Aide, there are several options: • Register for an Aide-in-Training (AIT) unit at a specific Day Camp. This unit is open to older girls to work with unit leaders and younger campers, all while attending Day Camp. See pg. 11 for camps that have this unit available • Attend a Day Camp Aide Training. See pg. 11 for the trainings offered in 2024 There is a fee to participate in the training; there is no cost to serve as a Day Camp Aide. Once an aide has been trained, they can pick their favorite camp and complete a Camp Volunteer application. Please visit girlscoutsem.org/forms to download the application. Camp Deposits and Fees Day Camps with a fee over $50 will require a deposit allowing time for those in need to apply for financial assistance. If no financial assistance is needed, please complete registration and deposit and then go to the balance due notification to complete the full payment. Payment of the balance is due by May 1 for all June camps and June 1 for all July camps. Girl Scouts will cancel registrations for any camps where the balance payment is not completed by the due date.
