2024 Camp Adventure Guide

2 Days, 1 Night Programs Junior Outdoor Journey Grades 3-5 for the 2023-2024 school year Date: July 12-13 Location: West Tyson County Park 63025 Cost: $80 Whether you have or haven’t camped before, this weekend will show you how fun outdoor adventures can be and teach you how to care for our environment. Juniors will learn to take care of animal habitats and resources, and camp outside. Tents and communal gear are provided by council. Girl Scouts are responsible for bringing a sleeping bag and other personal items (council has extras if needed). A virtual, evening prep meeting will be held the week before the program—date and details will be sent via email confirmation. A Junior Journey is a prerequisite to a Girl Scout Bronze Award. Girl Scout Juniors will earn their Outdoor Journey which includes Animal Habitats, Camper, Eco Camper, and Take Action Badges.

Urban Sports Target Day Grades 5-12 for the 2023-2024 school year Date: Aug. 16, 9 am-4 pm Location: Valley Park Archery Range 63088 Cost: $60

Ready, set, aim! Girl Scouts will enjoy a day filled with aiming through two target sports: archery and hatchet throwing. Girl Scouts will learn the basics of the sports and the equipment, and have plenty of time to practice both target sports as well as participate in fun competitions. Lunch is provided. Girl Scout Cadettes will earn and receive their Archery Badge. Girl Scout Seniors/Ambassadors will receive a fun patch.

Go For Gold Grades 8-11 for the 2023-2024 school year Date: Aug. 1, 9:30 am-3:30 pm Location: Berges Family Program Center 63146 Cost: $20

Junior Star Party Grades 4-5 for the 2023-2024 school year Date: July 16-17 Location: Camp Fiddlecreek 63055 Cost: $60

Join Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri for a fun day of learning about the Girl Scout Gold Award.

You will have the opportunity to: •

Participate in Gold Award training

Look up at the sky and discover all the wonders above us! Juniors will venture through the solar system, discover the stars, and learn to use tools to explore space. Enjoy the evening by staying up late with new friends and sleep in the next morning. The star party will include lodging in Myrtle’s Manor, dinner, breakfast and a night of memories as we explore our place in the universe. Girl Scout Juniors will earn their Space Science Investigator Badge.

• Meet the committee members who will mentor you through the program • Listen to a panel of previous Gold Award Girl Scouts • Network with the other girls in the region • Spend time brainstorming and researching options for your project

Cadette Outdoor Journey Grades 5-8 for the 2023-2024 school year Date: June 14-15 Location: West Tyson County Park 63025 Cost: $80

Lunch is provided during this expanded version of the Gold Award training.

Learning about and caring for the outdoors helps us appreciate the world around us while learning valuable skills to become confident women. Cadettes will explore outdoors at night, go on an adventure, and camp in a tent. Tents and communal gear are provided by council. Girl Scouts are responsible for bringing a sleeping bag and other personal items (council has extras if needed). A virtual, evening prep meeting will be held the week before the program—date and details will be sent via email confirmation. A Cadette Journey is a prerequisite to a Girl Scout Silver Award. Girl Scout Cadettes will earn their Outdoor Journey which includes Night Owl, Trailblazing, Primitive Camper, and Take Action Badges.
