Day Camp Leadership Training

For Day Camp Directors, Co-Directors, Business Managers, and Assistant Business Managers

Course Description: This annual required training is designed to prepare day camp leadership teams for a successful, well-run camp season. Participants will gain a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities while learning key procedures, compliance requirements, and best practices for planning, operating, and managing a day camp. Through practical guidance and real-world scenarios, this course focuses on effective program planning, financial oversight, risk management, communication, and collaboration. Whether new to the role or returning for another season, this training provides essential tools and updates to help volunteers lead with confidence and consistency.

Course Description: In this 20-minute course, volunteers learn the importance of inclusive and equitable language in programs, and practice using this language to support the identities of all Girl Scouts and foster a positive troop environment.

Girl Scout Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Mandatory for All Active Volunteers

Course Description: Child abuse and neglect are difficult subjects to think about, yet the prevention of abuse is a topic Girl Scouts takes very seriously. This course prepares volunteers who supervise Girl Scouts to recognize, respond to, and report concerns of child abuse and neglect. Volunteers will be empowered to prevent abuse by learning Girl Scout recommended practices, policies, and procedures—proactive measures designed to prevent abusers from interacting with Girl Scouts and foster a safe space for children to thrive.

This course is mandatory for all active GSEM volunteers.
