2025 Spring Older Girl Mini Guide

Daisy-Ambassador & Adults, Grades K-12 Join us for an exciting day trip to visit the state capitol in Jefferson City. Participants will tour the historic capitol building, see how state legislature works, and immerse themselves in the history of the Show-Me State. Troops participating with five or more Girl Scouts are required to provide two adults. All individual Girl Scouts must have a registered adult attend with them. All participants will arrive by bus transportation together, wearing special event shirts that will be provided along with a snack! Girl Scouts complete multiple steps of the Democracy Badge. Location: Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center, 63146 Cadette and Adult, Grades 6-8 This course is for Girl Scout Cadettes who are interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Silver Award. This training will allow participants to learn the steps necessary to complete their Silver Award project and how to submit their completion form. Location: Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center, 63146 Cadette, Senior and Ambassador, Grades 6-12 Girl Scouts will climb in trees at night under a full moon! Tree climbing is facilitated by certified instructors with safety equipment like harnesses and ropes. Girl Scouts do not need to have experience climbing, just a desire to try new things and comfortable spending time outdoors. Lodging (tents provided by Council) and breakfast will be provided. Transportation is not provided. Location: TBD Senior and Ambassador, Grades 9-12 April is Global Citizen Science Month! In this virtual program, Girl Scouts will join the global movement to make a positive impact on the world through scientific research. They will practice making observations and collecting data, and contribute to a citizen science project found on SciStarter. Participants must attend both sessions. Seniors and Ambassadors complete Part 1 of the Think Like a Citizen Scientist Badge. Location: Virtual Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador, Grades 4-12 Girl Scouts will consult with an expert from Wild Seeds Field Museum and learn about different mushrooms that are edible. We will only identify (not pick) mushrooms, but Girl Scouts will be able to try provided samples. Girl Scouts will also learn about ethics and mindfulness regarding edible and non-edible plants and our natural landscape. Location: Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center, 63146 Senior and Ambassador, Grades 9-12 This workshop is for current 9th-12th grade Girl Scouts who are interested in beginning their Gold Award. This extended training provides time to meet the Gold Award Committee, Gold Award alum and time to brainstorm project ideas. Lunch is provided.
