Join us for this adventure where Girl Scouts become real-world scientists and changemakers! Girl Scouts will learn what citizen science is, discovering how everyday people can help scientists collect important data about our world. Together, we’ll participate in a citizen science project, contributing observations that support ongoing research. Afterwards, Girl Scouts will start their Take Action Award to educate others on the value of citizen science. Become an ambassador for science and change in our community!

This program is for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who are interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award. Girl Scouts going for the Gold Award are required to attend this training; Girl Scouts and adults will learn the seven steps necessary to complete their Gold Award project and how to submit their proposal on GoGold.

Mental health is increasingly a focus of everyone’s lives, and for good reason! Mental health is just another part of our health overall, and one that has been ignored or forgotten for many years. Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month with a sleepover where we will explore the world of mental health and how we can be healthier and happier in our everyday lives. Using curriculum developed in partnership with Goal Driven Counseling, we will learn about common mental health issues faced by teens, types of treatment, self-care strategies, and community support.

Babysitter and First Aid May 16, 9:30 am-3 pm

Offered to: Cadette | Senior | Ambassador Grades 6-12

Babysitting is a great way to build responsibility and caregiving skills (and earn some extra money!). Whether Girl Scouts are getting ready to start babysitting, or they’ve already begun, this badge will help them become the best babysitter they can be. We’ll cover how to start a babysitting business, professionalism, child development, and complete a first aid course including coverage of CPR skills (Cadettes will not be CPR Certified in this program). Participants will receive a certificate of completion for the course.

Farmers Market: Business of the Booth

Offered to: Cadette | Senior | Ambassador Grades 6-12

Shopping at a farmers market is fun and provides a variety of healthy food options, but how much work does it take to pull it all together? We’ll visit a farmer’s market, talk with vendors, shop a little, and then create our own dream booth idea. Girl Scouts will earn an entrepreneurship badge in the process! Girl Scout Cadettes earn their Business Creator Badge. Girl Scout Seniors earn their Business Startup Badge. Girl Scout Ambassadors earn their Entrepreneur Accelerator Badge.
