This program is for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who are interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award. Girl Scouts going for the Gold Award are required to attend this training; Girl Scouts and adults will learn the seven steps necessary to complete their Gold Award project and how to submit their proposal on GoGold.

Join us on a journey to learn all about relationships! Girl Scouts will learn about stereotypes, first impressions, friendships, bullying, and conflict resolution, all while having fun and building new and stronger friendships. This is a virtual program with two sessions, and includes a box mailed to the participant’s house with all the supplies needed and the award earned.

On this extreme adventure, Girl Scouts will experience rock climbing and rappelling on a natural rock face. No previous climbing experience necessary, just a desire to try new things and be comfortable spending time outdoors. This is a day program—Girl Scouts will need to be dropped off and picked up at Pere Marquette State Park Climbing Area (1.25 hours northeast of St. Louis) or opt-in to a carpool. Lunch, snacks, and all climbing equipment is included.

Want to create real change? The Volunteer In Training award challenges Girl Scouts to think strategically and lead in ways that matter to them. Girl Scouts will create experiences that open minds and build confidence in younger kids while making sure everyone is included. Girl Scouts will attend two training sessions to learn important leadership, teaching, and event organization skills. Then, they’ll work with one of our own Girl Scout Program Managers to help with activities at the Dec. 7 Gingerbread Engineering programs. Girl Scouts will then serve as hosts for the annual GSEM Read-a-Thon! To complete the award, Girl Scouts must attend both training sessions and the Read-a-Thon on Jan. 10.

Girl Scout Cadettes will explore the world after dark and earn their Night Owl Badge in an unforgettable way! We’re heading to the World Bird Sanctuary for an evening full of nature, discovery, and nocturnal adventure. Cadettes will learn about the important work of the sanctuary, enjoy an up-close owl encounter, and go on a guided nighttime hike in search of owls. We’ll listen closely for hoots and calls while learning how these amazing birds thrive in the dark.
