2023 Girl Scout Impact Report

April Showers Since 1998, our Girl Scouts along with their troops and families, have worked together to collect personal care items for those in need in our communities. In partnership with Operation Food Search, these items are distributed to agencies across eastern Missouri. Girl Scouts promote April Showers through distributing sticky notes door-to-door, doing in-person promotion at local stores and sharing online. The community have the opportunity to donate by leaving items on their porch for girls to pick up, donating at a store during Showering the Community, purchasing items for donation through one of our online registries or donating at a local Schnucks or Dierbergs Market through their in-store collection. “Participating in April Showers is important because it’s a good way to give back to your community. April Showers impacts those who might need toothpaste, deodorant or other necessities that we forget about when we have easy access to those products.” -Aria, Girl Scout Cadette
