This Journey Starts With You— Join Us At Camp In 2023!
Girl Scouts—All Girls, Everywhere Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri offers our members high-quality programming at affordable prices, including summer camp. In general, the cost to deliver our programs is more than the fee that we charge to participate. We are able to keep the fees reasonable with the amazing support of the Treats & Reads Program, the Girl Scout Cookie Program and donations to our Gifts for Girls Annual Fund. We also offer financial assistance for membership fees, programs, including camp, and uniforms so that ALL girls have access to the full breadth of the Girl Scout experience. Thank you for all that you do! Please consider making a gift to the Gifts for Girls Annual Fund so that we can continue to make these experiences accessible to girls across our region.
Since 1912, girls have explored and strengthened their outdoor skills and commitment to environmental stewardship through Girl Scouting. Guided by supportive adults and peers, Girl Scouts discover the wonders of nature, experience the thrill of adventure, and challenge themselves and one another to reach new heights. These experiences hone their outdoor and leadership skills, inspire them to protect the environment and reinforce friendships that last. When Girl Scouts participate in outdoor programming, they benefit in important ways: Outdoor Competence Girl Scouts engage safely and responsibly in a range of outdoor activities like practicing Leave No Trace principles, and knowing what to bring to be prepared in the outdoors. Outdoor Confidence Girl Scouts have confidence in their abilities, and are willing to try new and challenging outdoor activities. Outdoor Interest Girl Scouts have a love of nature and an interest in the natural world. Environmental Stewardship Girl Scouts understand how their behaviors impact the environment, and what they can do to protect our natural resources.

Day Camp Day Camps are the perfect option for busy summer schedules! Girl Scouts will have fun in the sun playing team-building games, singing songs, exploring nature and even getting a little messy in the great outdoors. Led by volunteers throughout our Council, Day Camps help campers explore their unique communities at a variety of sites, including state and local parks, community centers and Girl Scout camps.
Volunteer All Day Camps are planned and staffed by volunteers— consider serving in a volunteer role this summer! When you or another adult family member volunteer full-time, your Girl Scout gets to attend for half price and the Day Camp can accommodate more campers. When you volunteer part-time, your Girl Scout is guaranteed a place in camp. Volunteer needs to be a registered Girl Scout member and must complete a background check. Fill out a volunteer application at girlscoutsem.org/daycamp. Volunteer discounts will be applied following the conclusion of the Day Camp and verifcation by the Director. Payments should be made in full and a refund will be provided. Waitlist Capacities are based on the number of volunteers to maintain the adult-to-girl ratio. Campers come off the waitlist as more volunteers are secured. Campers on the waitlist are subject to the same refund policy as those who have been accepted into the program. Refunds A written request must be provided to the Answer Center two weeks prior to the start of the program to receive a refund. No refunds will be given if a camp session is dismissed early or begins late due to unforeseen extreme weather conditions. Patch A 2023 Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Day Camp Patch is included in the cost of registration. Some camps offer Day Camp-specific patches and T-shirts for an additional cost. Grade Levels Register your Girl Scout in the unit according to 2022 2023 grade in school.

Camp Deposits and Fees Day Camps with a fee over $50 will require a deposit allowing time for those in need to apply for financial assistance. Girl Scout Leadership Camps are designed for campers ages 15 and up. At the start of these programs, knowledgeable staff are there to guide the campers through their journey of learning, challenge and growth. Toward the end of the program, camp staff move into supporting roles as campers step into leadership roles, put their skills to practice and choose their path (at camp and in life!). The campers in the leadership programs help staff set the tone in the camp environment and often serve as role models for the younger campers, playing a major role in the mentoring magic that happens at camp. Whether they are leading a hike, teaching equestrian skills or building a campfire, the Leadership Experience and Practice (L.E.A.P) campers are developing skills that will last a lifetime and exemplifying what being a Girl Scout is all about.
