Wilderness and Remote First Aid

Certification Course

Level: All

Course Description : This certification provides individuals with a foundation of first aid skills to respond to emergencies and care in areas without immediate emergency medical response (EMS) at an activity location. This certification is required when EMS takes more than 30 minutes to arrive at a location. Participants must attend this two-day course and complete all skills assessments. Some skills demonstrations may require strenuous physical activity. This certification is valid for two years. Girl Scouts 16 years and older are welcome to participate. Financial scholarships are available.

Prerequisite : Current American Red Cross CPR/AED certification.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Certification Course

Level: All

Course Description : Given the importance of mental wellbeing in our lives and the prevalence of mental health and substance abuse challenges in youth today, we are offering a Youth Mental Health First Aid certification course. This blended-learning course consists of a two-hour self-paced online course and a 5.5 hour in-person session. This three-year certification uses a nationally recognized curriculum developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to assist youth aged 12-18 and is taught by certified instructors. Members won’t want to miss this powerful and highly relevant course. Online learning assignments must be completed in full before attending the in-person session (no exceptions). This course is for adults only.
