Offered to: Cadette | Senior | Ambassador Grades 6-12 Have you ever wondered if you can eat the berries from the plant in your backyard or the flower while you're on a hike? During this program, you will consult with an expert fromWild Seeds Field Museum and learn about different wild plants that are edible. We will only identify (not pick) plants that are growing at the park, but you may be able to try provided samples. You will also learn about ethics and mindfulness regarding edible and non-edible plants and our natural landscape. Registered adults will also be able to participate in the program. Location: Nature Playscape, Forest Park Offered to: Daisy | Brownie | Junior Grades PreK-5 Mental health involve our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and is an important part of taking care of ourselves. Through this program, Girl Scouts will explore the world of mental health, discover tools to help them stay happy and healthy, and learn how to care for themselves and others facing mental illness. The program will have an in-person session at the beginning of the month, followed by three virtual sessions. Girl Scouts will earn their Mental Health Awareness Patch. This year, Show Me Space will highlight the groundbreaking impact that women have had on space exploration through history and into the current day. Girls will be able to explore space history and meet actual astronauts and NASA personnel who have made spaceflight possible. The event will feature keynote speaker, Eileen Collins, the first woman to pilot the Space Shuttle and the first to command a Space Shuttle mission. An adult must accompany each girl or troop.
