ADULT COURSES

COOKING FOR CROWDS AT CAMP: ALL This course is required for adult volunteers who wish to use dining hall kitchens at Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Camps. Participants learn policies and procedures for operating and cleaning the facilities, equipment and appliances. The Cooking for Crowds course curriculum has been updated and now includes a mandatory hands-on component.

Note: A minimum of one person per kitchen crew must be certified in Cooking for Crowds to use dining hall kitchens at Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri camps.

Fee is due at registration to cover the cost of supplies; financial assistance is available.

GIRL SCOUT BRONZE AND SILVER AWARD WORKSHOP: Troop volunteers learn how to prepare girls to earn their Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards. What exactly are these awards, what steps are involved and why should girls strive to earn them? These questions will all be addressed during this interactive training.

GIRL SCOUT CEREMONIES: ALL Ceremonies help Girl Scouts mark special events throughout the year, such as bridging to another level, earning a National Leadership Journey award or receiving a Girl Scout pin. During this course, volunteers learn how ceremonies can commemorate accomplishments and how to incorporate them into troop meetings.

LEAVE NO TRACE: ALL Learn about the Leave No Trace organization, the seven Leave No Trace Principles and how they can be applied to Girl Scout activities. Become engaged in preserving the natural world by avoiding human-created impacts.

TROOP TRIPS: ALL Bon voyage, Girl Scout! Learn how to plan and conduct a troop trip and get tips for choosing a destination. Participants leave this course understanding how to incorporate Journeys and Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting themes into a troop trip.
