Offered to: Grades K-3 Spend a Sunday afternoon learning all about the sun! We’ll work on scientific experiments and hands-on activities to discover facts about the sun and its role in our solar system, and enjoy delicious ice cream sundaes to cool off. Girl Scout Daisies complete Step 1 of their Space Science Explorer Badge and Girl Scout Brownies complete Steps 1, 2 and 4 of their Space Science Adventurer Badge. Offered to: Grades 2-3 Girls experience the Safety House, giving them the opportunity to learn how to extinguish various types of kitchen fires, plan for weather situations, understand the proper way to escape from a room during a fire and discover the tools used by firefighters. To help Girl Scouts strengthen the skills she learns about safety and First Aid, each girl receives a family take-home kit which includes a mini booklet so her family can create their emergency plan and also a DIY First Aid kit to keep on hand. Girl Scout Brownies earn their Safety Pin and First Aid Badge. Location: West County Safety House, 13790 Manchester Rd., Manchester 63021 Grades 6-12 This special weekend is the perfect opportunity for our older girls to come together and complete badge requirements for the Outdoor Journey and experience the zipline. Girls spend the night at Myrtle’s Manor and Cadettes will spend one of the nights primitive camping. Girls complete the Discover and Connect portions of their Journey and will receive details on completing their Take Action Project at a later date. Girl Scout Cadettes earn their Night Owl, Trailblazing and Primitive Camper Badges. Girl Scout Seniors earn their First Aid (CPR/First Aid Red Cross Certified), Adventure and Adventure Camper Badges. Girl Scout Ambassadors earn their Outdoor Art Master, Water and Survival Camper Badges. Location: Camp Fiddlecreek, 558 Daisy Ln., Labadie 63005 Grades 2-3 During this Journey, Girl Scout Brownies will learn how engineers use design thinking to solve problems and do three hands-on design thinking activities: design and build an assistive device, a water collection device and a device that can launch a ball across a room. Girl Scout Brownies earn their Think Like an Engineer Journey Award and know how to Take Action when they leave. Offered to: Grades K-5 Say goodbye to summer! Get back into the swing of things at our Back to School Palooza. We will practice our reading, writing and arithmetic in new ways and with new activities. But, really, we will be practicing our recess and social skills until we are well prepared for that school bell to ring!
