Welcome to the Spring 2020 edition of Inspire Discovery !

This publication is your insider’s guide to all the new programs, adventurous activities and valuable information exclusively for our Girl Scouts and their families. We guarantee the program opportunities will ignite your girl's love of learning and expand her horizons, while she has the time of her life. For more than a century, Girl Scouts has designed innovative and unrivaled programs to meet girls where they are now—and grow along with them. In 2019, Girl Scouts of the USA introduced 42 new badges curated exclusively for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade. The new programming enables girls to choose how they want to experience and influence the world, while preparing them to address some of society’s most pressing needs through hands-on learning and real-life problem-solving in cybersecurity, coding, space exploration and environmental stewardship. The new programming also includes 18 Coding for Good Badges, which not only teaches girls the basics of coding, but also details every stage of the coding process. Check out our girl programs section of this publication, beginning on pg. 39, to discover opportunities for your Girl Scout to earn one of these new badges this spring. In collaboration with our nearly 200 local Program Collaborators and Partners, thousands of eastern Missouri G.I.R.L. s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders) TM are ready to dive into our newest programs! Spring is also the time for early registration at Girl Scouts. The benefits of early registration are many—including being the first to know about exciting developments and programs at Girl Scouts. And, new for 2021, troops who register early can embark on an unforgettable troop experience to unique locations like Urban Harvest, Marcoot Jersey Creamery and Microsoft. Turn to pgs. 6-7 for all the details and be sure to re-register your Girl Scout on April 1 so she doesn’t miss a minute of the Girl Scouting fun! Spring break options are back in 2020 so girls can work on badge requirements, while relaxing with friends and exploring destinations around St. Louis. Girls will love laughing and learning with their fellow Girl Scouts, and parents will love our stress-free options for their busy schedules!

So, grab a pen and circle the programs that ignite your G.I.R.L. s curiosity, including the St. Louis Aquarium Family Event for those that re-register by April 30. I promise it will be a spring and summer that she will never forget!
