City Nature Challenge

Offered to: Grades 6-12 Older girls learn how they can use their phones and other devices to make observations, collect data and work with professional scientists to contribute to ongoing research. Girls will help document observations of the nature around camp using iNaturalist to participate in the City Nature Challenge. Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors earn their Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey Award and know how to Take Action when they leave. Location: Camp Fiddlecreek, 558 Daisy Ln., Labadie 63055 Grades K-1 Girl Scout Daisies will get an introduction to robots and the many things robots can do. Daisies work in teams, like engineers do, to design a robot that solves an everyday problem. Girl Scout Daisies earn their What Robots Do Badge. Location: Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center, 2300 Ball Dr., St. Louis 63146 Offered to: Offered to: Grades 6-12 Our brand-new Kansas City Roller Trip is the perfect way to combine travel and STEM! At the Worlds of Fun amusement park, girls will learn about the science behind designing and engineering the loops and drops that roller coasters are famous for. Then, they will get to enjoy the rides at the park! Girl Scout Cadettes complete Steps 2 and 4 of their Finding Common Ground Badge. Location: Kansas City, M0 Grades K-12 Did you ever stop to think how important the wide world of plants is to our communities? They are responsible for much of what keeps life going. Girls work with plants in the nursery and help with the growth of new seedlings. Girl Scout Brownies complete Step 4 of their Hiker Badge, Girl Scout Cadettes complete Step 5 of their Trees Badge and Girl Scout Seniors complete Step 1 of their Eco Explorer Badge. Location: Forest ReLeaf, 2194 Creve Coeur Mill Rd., St. Louis 63146 Grades 3-12 Enjoy a day in the outdoors, make new friends and take part in a special guided bee collection hike. Girls have fun learning about the importance of bees and the impact they make on the environment.
