The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious award Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors can earn.

Version B, transparent background When girls decide to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, they are on their honor to uphold the Standards of Excellence. These standards set a high benchmark for everything they do and invite girls to think deeply, explore opportunities and challenge themselves. Following the Standards of Excellence helps girls to develop as a leader, achieve the Girl Scout Leadership Outcomes and make a mark on their community that creates a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Version A, white background GIRL SCOUT MILESTONE AWARDS Ten-year, 13-year and graduating Seniors are recognized with certificates from Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri to document their commitment to Girl Scouting. To receive certificates, complete the Milestones Request form online and mail by March 1 to Girl Scouts of Eastern

Seven Steps to the Girl Scout Gold Award:

1. Identify and issue: Girls use their values and skills to choose a community or global issue they care about

2. Investigate it thoroughly: Girls use their skills to learn everything they can about the issue they have identified

3. Get help and build your team: Girls form a team to support her efforts and help her take action

4. Create a plan: She identifies the root cause of an issue and then creates a plan to tackle it. This is where a girl may decide to benefit the Girl Scout community, if Girl Scouts or a Girl Scout facility is the most logical beneficiary of the project. That decision should not happen before this step 5. Present your plan and gather feedback: Candidates submit a Project Proposal Form to the Girl Scout Council for approval, clearly identifying how the project will address the issue in a sustainable way

6. Take action: Girls take the lead, manage their team and carry out their plan

7. Educate and inspire: The Gold Award Girl Scout tells her story and shares her results, while ensuring her project will have an lasting impact
