SECTION 7: GENERAL INFORMATION

ACCESS CARDS Access Cards are provided to staff to allow entry to the private (non-public) areas of the Girl Scout Service Center. Please do not put any Girl Scout identifying information on the card, cardholder, lanyard, etc. If you forget your card, go to the lobby, and ask for assistance. If you have problems with your access card, contact the Business Services Coordinator at ext. 2369. The security system automatically records access card entries. Be sure to swipe your card when entering and leaving the facility. The Girl Scout Service Center is equipped with an alarm system. Do not attempt to enter the building outside of normal business hours unless you have a code to disarm the alarm. BREAK ROOM AND FOODS The break room is equipped with appliances such as refrigerators, a freezer, ice machine, coffee makers, iced tea machine, microwaves, toaster oven, dishwasher, and vending machines. China and silverware are provided. Employees are expected to rinse their dishes and stack them in the dishwasher. Kitchen supplies and storage containers/bags are kept in the cupboards. Each refrigerator is cleaned out weekly on a rotating basis; food items left in the refrigerator on cleaning days are thrown out. Everyone is expected to keep the area clean. Counter space beneath the mural is designated as the “freebie” area. Leftover food from meetings and items to be given away may be left on this counter for anyone to take. In addition, if a child, niece, nephew, etc. is selling items for a church, school or civic group, an order form may be left on the counter. If you would like employees to join you in a charitable event, information may also be left. If having food delivered, be sure to alert the Receptionist. Payment must be available at the time of delivery. BULLETIN BOARDS Bulletin boards in the Council’s facilities carry notices required by law as well as material of general interest to staff. Permission to post work-related materials on bulletin boards must be obtained from the Chief Human Resources Officer or designee. Bulletin boards may not be used for any non-business purpose. CARPOOLS Girl Scouts participates in Ridefinders, the St. Louis regional rideshare program. Please contact Human Resources for additional information. CHILDREN AT WORK Either when you are at work in the office or out within the jurisdiction on Council business, it is generally not appropriate for your children or grandchildren to be with you. Exceptions must be approved by your manager . COMPUTER RESOURCE ROOM The Computer Resource Room (CRR) is located in the Girl Scout Service Center. There are twelve computers available for use by staff, Girl Scout volunteer groups and troops for training.
