SECTION 2: STAFFING
GSUSA MEMBERSHIP
As a condition of employment, every staff member, at their own expense, is required to maintain membership in the Girl Scouts organization. The annual membership year runs from October 1-September 30. There is an annual fee, or you may choose to become a lifetime member by paying a one-time fee. Employees must renew their annual membership through the GSEM website. New employees must become a member at the time of employment. Fees provide the funds that support our national organization, which, in turn, provides support to the Council. JOB TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS The Council strives to provide promotion opportunities for its employees. Current employees are notified of position vacancies through the internal posting process. Council employees who want to apply for another position should generally complete at least three months in their current position, or both the current manager and hiring manager must agree on transfer eligibility, before applying for a new position. VOLUNTEERING Staff members may be eligible to serve as an operational, active volunteer while being a paid staff member, without relinquishing either position. Certain staff and volunteer positions are not applicable. Please contact Human Resources for details or to inquire about eligibility.
