Game Cart for The Fountains of West County Senior Living

Project Details: Knowing that senior citizens living at retirement homes can often times feel isolated, Girl Scouts from Troop 527 decided to find a way to create a sense of community to earn the Bronze Award. The Juniors had noticed that The Fountains of West County Senior Living did not have many games, puzzles, or playing cards for residents to enjoy. They decided to construct a game closet and install in the common area of the senior living facility giving the residents an opportunity to connect with others. The Juniors stocked the closet with a variety of games and activities that the residents of the senior living facility could use in their free time.

Bronze Award Team: Troop 527

Issue: The residence of The Fountains of West County Senior Living did not have an adequate supply of games, puzzles, and cards to use. Root Cause: They did not have the budget to purchase or obtain these items. Target Audience: The residence of The Fountains of West County Senior Living have access to the game closet.
