Girl Scouts GO 2022 April Showers 2023

According to the 2017 Girl Scout Impact Study, today’s youth need a broad set of skills, behaviors, and attitudes to effectively navigate their environment, work well with others, perform their best, and achieve their goals—competencies that are central to the development of human capital and workforce success around the world. Yet, there is a profound gap between the knowledge and skills most youth learn in school and the knowledge and skills needed in 21st century communities and workplaces. For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri has prepared young girls for lives of purpose, commitment, and success. Our progressive skill building and leadership development programs have a lifelong impact. Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, girls are encouraged to seek challenges as growth opportunities and to embrace the adventure that comes with those challenges. In fact, a recent study of Girl Scout Alums found that they are more likely than non-Girl Scouts to have successfully met their personal and professional goals. It is no coincidence that the vast majority of women in leadership roles—in business, in government, and in the sciences—were Girl Scouts as kids. As you look to build the pipeline of future leaders in your company, Girl Scouts is an important partner. Whether you brand a patch program, lend your business expertise to a Live from Girl Scouts episode, or support one of our annual events, your contribution directly impacts Girl Scouts every year. We are pleased to present you with opportunities for partnership in 2022-2023 and invite you to consider all of the ways you and your company may help us in building CHOOSE YOUR GIRL SCOUT ADVENTURES

and sustaining a dynamic pipeline of leadership. We ask you to Choose Your Girl Scout Adventure.

Patch Programs

Girl Scout patches and badges offer unique opportunities for girl learning and skill development. While badge curricula are created by our national organization, Girl Scouts of the USA, patches represent numerous opportunities for corporate partnership. For Girl Scouts, patches are the ultimate uniform bling! However, a patch is so much more. Each patch or badge earned by a girl represents an important step in her journey as a Girl Scout. By tackling the specific curriculum and tasks associated with each patch, she is learning the skills needed to lead in your company and our communities. Girls earn patches and badges by completing a curriculum and set of activities that has been designed around specific subjects, including Disability Awareness, Entrepreneurism, STEM, Black History Month. Each year, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri welcomes companies’ expertise and collaboration on supporting academic, social or other topics that are critical to our girls, our communities and your company’s mission and culture.

Investment With a $50,000 contribution, your company, in partnership with Girl Scout staff, may co-design and brand a Girl Scout patch that young members may earn and wear proudly as part of their Girl Scout uniform. Patch program curriculum aligns with Girl Scouts’ educational pillars: STEM, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship and Outdoor Adventure and your company’s support will help Girl Scouts build the skills they need for today and their future.

Daisy Drop Box Program Partnership

For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has been engaging girls in relevant and innovative leadership programming and ensuring a robust corps of volunteers are equipped with the tools they need to lead, support and mentor their Girl Scouts. The Daisy Drop Box program was developed in 2019 to assist volunteer leaders in providing a consistent and quality experience for Girl Scouts’ youngest members, the Daisies (kindergarten – 1st grade). Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri mails Daisy Drop Boxes every month to kindergarten and first grade Daisy troop leaders who then deliver the curriculum using supplies provided. The materials include everything needed for girls to earn a badge and/or patch during two Girl Scout troop meetings. Daisy Drop Box content explores STEM, Life Skills, Outdoors and Entrepreneurship topics.

Investment With a $25,000 contribution, corporate partners may support curriculum and activities for ONE Daisy Drop Box. All Daisy Drop Box content aligns with Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s goals and priorities. All materials are packaged and mailed monthly to Daisy troop leaders. These new troop leaders, in turn, feel more secure in leading troop meetings in their inaugural years as Girl Scout volunteers.

The purpose of Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) is twofold: 1. To bring women together in support of one another and 2. To positively influence future women (a.k.a. current Girl Scouts) in leadership. It is more than a membership program; it is a community that brings together professional women and all others who believe in investing in girls with their time, talent and treasure. Year-round Women’s Leadership Network events provide women in the region with opportunities for celebration, reflection and conversation. Members share their journeys in leadership with each other and consider together how their experiences may enhance the leadership potential of today’s eastern Missouri Girl Scouts. April Showers is Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s largest annual community service event, as well as the ONLY large-scale personal care drive in the region. A critical piece of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is understanding the value of and commitment to community service, an achievement that eastern Missouri Girl Scouts go above and beyond to fulfill. Many of these hours are achieved through participation in April Showers. Throughout the month of April, Girl Scouts collect from the community personal care items and distribute them to Operation Food Search and other health and human service agencies that serve Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s 28-county region.
