April Showers is Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s largest annual community service event, as well as the ONLY large-scale personal care drive in the region. A critical piece of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is understanding the value of and commitment to community service, an achievement that eastern Missouri Girl Scouts go above and beyond to fulfill. Many of these hours are achieved through participation in April Showers. Throughout the month of April, Girl Scouts collect from the community personal care items and distribute them to Operation Food Search and other health and human service agencies that serve Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s 28-county region.
