USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Renewal

Level: Brownie-Ambassador

Course Description: USA Archery allows members to renew their certifications online if their current three year certification has not expired. A USA Archery or National Field Archery Association membership, SafeSport training, and USA Archery background screening must also be current to qualify for online renewal. This self paced, 75-minute online refresher course costs $50 and may only be accessed via the USA Archery website. Once participants receive a completion certificate, they must upload it to the final course module for gsLearn to acknowledge this course as complete. As this is a newer renewal process, please contact Adult Education at adulteducation@girlscoutsem.org with any questions. If a volunteer’s USA Archery Level 2 Instructor certification has expired, they are not eligible to complete this online-only refresher through USA Archery. They must instead complete the USA Archery Level 2 Instructor blended-learning course. Course Access: Course available in the Content Library in gsLearn or via this link. Slingshot Instructor Training

Level: All

Course Description: If troops are looking for something new to do at camp, or they are looking for a challenging activity that even Daisies can enjoy, it’s time to try slingshots! Learn how to bring the fun of slingshots to Girl Scouts in this two-hour, in-person course. As a target sport at our GSEM camps, slingshots use the same ranges as archery and hatchet throwing and share the same setup and safety principles as archery. Because of this, participants must possess a current USA Archery Level 1 or Level 2 Instructor certification to lead a slingshot activity at our camps. Slingshot Instructor Training results in a course completion rather than a certification and is renewable every three years. Proof of current archery certification and current slingshot training must be shown to the camp supervisor when using the equipment and range for a slingshot activity or program.

Prerequisite: Current USA Archery Level 1 or Level 2 Instructor certification (no exceptions).
