Offered to: Grades K-1 Have you ever wondered howWALL-E, robot vacuums, or BB8 move to do their jobs? In this program Daisies will learn about the various parts of robots and how they move. Then they will design their very own robots, focusing on how they will move to complete tasks. Girl Scout Daisies will earn their How Robots Move Badge. Location: Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center, 2300 Ball Dr., St. Louis 63146 Grades 6-8 Cadette Girl Scouts are constantly exposed to messages about how they should look, think, and act. In this program, Cadettes will embark on a Journey to examine the messages they receive, learn how to examine media with a critical eye, and how they can engage with media in a healthy way. A Cadette Journey is a prerequisite to the Girl Scout Silver Award. After this program, girls will need to implement a Take Action Project to complete the MEdia Journey. Offered to: Grades 4-5 What do butterfly wings, peacock feathers and seashells have in common? They are all examples of patterns in nature! Girls will learn all about patterns, explore patterns found in nature and use math to create their own patterns using symmetry, fractals and the Fibonacci sequence.
