This course is for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest community service award a high-school-aged girl can earn. Parents, caregivers and troop leaders are welcome to attend, too! Girls going for the Gold Award are required to attend this training; they’ll learn the seven steps necessary to complete their Gold Award project and how to submit their proposal on Go Gold.
Ally Roehl, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Highest Awards Manager, is here to support girls earning their Girl Scout Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards. Read on to get to know Ally, a lifelong Girl Scout and Gold Awardee, a little better! Meet Our Highest Award ProgramManager Q: What are your favorite hobbies? A: Reading, camping, swimming and volunteering at animal shelters. I’m also very into crafts and DIY. Q: Why do you choose Girl Scouts? A: Girl Scouts did a lot for me growing up. I was super shy and introverted, but I attended Girl Scout programs and camp and it helped me come out of my shell. Some of my closest friends I met from Girl Scouts, both as a girl member and now as an employee.
Q: Were you a Girl Scout growing up? If so, for how long? A: I joined as a Daisy when I was five and have been with Girl Scouts ever since. I was an adult volunteer and Troop Leader before I joined Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri as an employee. Q: What is your favorite program to lead and why? A: Aerial Silks was one of my favorites. Many of the girls didn’t think they’d be able to do it and were so excited when they succeeded!
