Summer GAM (Gathering All Mariners) ☙ (full week) July 26-Aug. 1 Du Bois, IL 62831 Grades 6-12 for the 2025-2026 school year Cost: $115 per camper; $82 per Barnacles, Skippers or Adult Volunteer; $25 per day-only option Put those skills to the test at the Council’s longest-running Mariner event! This five-day adventure is the ultimate challenge for Girl Scouts active in a Mariner ship. Campers will compete in a series of exciting water-based events— testing their canoeing, swimming, and sailing skills while building camaraderie through friendly competition. Designed for experienced Mariners, this event requires advanced preparation and a strong spirit of teamwork. All activities are grounded in recognized water safety standards and fully align with Girl Scout water safety guidelines. Winter GAM (Gathering All Mariners) January 9-11 OR January 10, 9 am-8 pm Tuckaho, 63379 Grades 6-12 for the 2025-2026 school year Cost: $40 for weekend event OR $25 for day-only event Winter GAM is a fun and engaging gathering for Girl Scouts who love water-related adventures like swimming, canoeing, and sailing. While no one’s getting in the water at this event, participants will dive into hands on instruction in water sports, play themed games, learn classic sea shanties, and so much more! It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone curious about the Mariner Program to get a taste of the excitement, teamwork, and nautical knowledge it offers—no swimsuit required! All meals, snacks, and lodging are included. Please note: Girl Scout membership is required to attend. All adults staying overnight must have a current background check on file. THE MARINER PROGRAM Girl Scouts set sail in “ships” of six or more—either as an existing troop or as an individual Girl Scout joining together with volunteers—while maintaining their membership in their current troops. Graduating high school seniors can take the helm in the Barnacle Ship, a special leadership opportunity where experienced Mariners mentor younger campers and guide the next wave of water-loving Girl Scouts.
