Girl Scout Bronze Award
How Girl Scout Juniors Make the World a Better Place
Welcome to the Girl Scout Bronze Award, a leadership adventure for more than half a million Girl Scout Juniors across the country and around the world. Training is provided by Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri for leaders, caregivers and Juniors who want to learn more about the Bronze Award. For a complete list of trainings offered, turn to the Younger Girl Program Listing section which begins on pg. 27. Once the Juniors have completed their Bronze Award Project, the leader/adult volunteer will verify requirements have been met and submit the completion report online to Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. Projects must be submitted online by March 1 in order to be recognized at the special award celebration in June each year. Projects received after this date will be recognized at the following year’s celebration.
The seven steps to earn the Bronze Award:
1. Complete one of the prerequisites 2. Build a team 3. Explore the community 4. Identify an issue and root cause 5. Make a plan (Use the Bronze Award Rubric as a guide) 6. Take action 7. Submit Completion Report online
The rubric and all resources can be found at girlscoutsem.org/bronzeaward .
