Join us for a two-part program to earn the Animal Helpers Badge and Take Action Award! With the help of the St. Louis HUGGS organization, Girl Scouts will discover the essential role service dogs play in supporting individuals with disabilities. Cadettes will meet real service dogs, learn how they’re trained, and hear stories about how these incredible animals transform lives. The following week, we’ll reconvene for a virtual session to start the Take Action Award, where Girl Scouts will use what they’ve learned to become advocates. They’ll educate others about the legal rights of people with disabilities and their service dogs, helping to raise awareness and promote respect in their communities. This program has two sessions, the first in-person and the second virtual. Awards will be mailed out to participants after completion of their project.
