We’re excited that our 2024 Cookie mascot is our friend, the axolotl. This species is nearly extinct in the wild and is native only to Lake Xochimilco in the Valley of Mexico, as well as the canals and waterways of Mexico City. Axolotls eat worms, insects, small fish, and just about anything else that can fit inside their mouth and swallow whole, including other salamanders. They can regrow body parts like hearts, spines and brains.
