Patch: A memento signifying participation in an event or a special experience; differs from a badge, which recognizes completion of grade-level activities

Pathway: The ways girls and adults participate in Girl Scouting. All Pathways incorporate the Girl Scout Experience

PAVE (Project Anti-Violence Education): An innovative in-school program developed to empower girls and young women to prevent and reduce violence in their lives

Peanut Pantry: Specific sites throughout the Eastern Missouri jurisdiction where troops can pick up additional products during the Fall Product Program. Peanut Pantry locations are provided by volunteers. Schedule and site directory can be found in the Fall Product Program Plan Book published annually prior to the program

Placement Coordinator: Assists members with registration and maintains the Opportunity Catalog to identify troops for new members

Product Programs: Includes the Girl Scout Cookie and Fall Product Programs. This is the best way for girls to earn funds for their troops to pursue goals. By planning and participating in these two programs, girls build real-world skills that benefit their troops, councils, communities and themselves

Program Partners: Organizations that have been approved to offer Girl Scout programming as a resource to members. They offer badge workshops, field trip options and Journey-based programming

Promise and Law: The spiritual force and ethical code accepted by all Girl Scouts

Promise Award: A Council award recognizing volunteer service which exceeded expectations and benefited the entire neighborhood. Presented to any adult member serving in a capacity other than troop leader or assistant leader

Quiet Sign: A traditional technique for obtaining silence at Girl Scout meetings. The individual who desires silence raises their right hand; as others see the raised hand, they raise their hand and become quiet until complete silence is established

Recruitment Coordinator (RC): A staff member dedicated to help volunteers with recruiting girls in a specific area to become Girl Scouts

Rededication: A ceremony in which an individual renews the Promise and reviews what the Girl Scout Law means. This ceremony may be held when new members are invested or at a separate ceremony during the membership year
