Examples of some handouts you may wish to have available at the parent/guardian meeting include the following: • Agenda and sign-in sheet • Health History and Annual Permission form. This form is required for each girl before they can participate in any Girl Scout activities • One-page information sheet about the troop. Include contact information for you and your troop volunteers and helpers, meeting schedule and troop dues, if applicable • Fact sheet about how the troop will function. Include any of the following: What girls should bring to the meetings, how troop dues will be spent, whether parents will be asked to provide snacks, etc. • Roster of the parents’ and girls’ names • Have membership, financial aid and background check forms on hand for anyone who can’t register online STEP 5 Set up a bank account. Each troop is required to have a bank account. There must be two registered, approved and background checked cosigners on every troop bank account. Cosigners must also be unrelated by blood, marriage or partnership. STEP 6 Now you can complete your training. Within six months of registering as a troop leader or assistant troop leader, you will need to complete the remainder of the New Troop Leader Prep Series. Courses are offered in-person and online. • Troop Money Management • Grade Level Training (Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior/Ambassador) • Cookie Rookie • Introduction to Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Camps After the meeting, follow up with any parents/guardians who were unable to attend and get them involved with the troop.
