Girl Scout Bronze Award

Bronze Award Spotlight

In 2023, University City Girl Scouts decided to organize a clothing drive to help those in need in their community to earn their Girl Scout Bronze Award. Molly Hoffman, Addie Mayes and Kiki Soucy, pictured above, partnered with RedBike Outreach to provide gently-used clothing to local families. After meeting with two local churches to present their project, these young changemakers worked with them to host a clothing drive at both locations. The Girl Scouts set up collection bins, wrote bulletin notices and created yard signs to promote the drive. They also provided lists of donated items most needed and information about RedBike Outreach. Once all donations were collected, the girls sorted everything by gender, size and type of clothing and delivered the items. “The Girl Scout Bronze Award helps make the world a better place,” said Molly Hoffman. “We wanted to help people in our community who needed clothes. It was fun to earn one of the highest awards in Girl Scouts and a good goal to organize and execute.”

Bronze Award Training This course is for Girl Scout Juniors who are interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Bronze Award. Parents, caregivers and troop leaders are welcome to attend, too! This training will allow Juniors to learn the steps necessary to complete their Bronze Award project and how to submit their completion. Register on gsEvents.

Product Programs

Way to Go, Girl Scouts! Give yourself a pat on the back—the Girl Scout Cookie season is over, and you did amazing things! What’s next? Your troop now has more funds to do the activities you planned. Maybe it’s a service project, or some field trips? The 2024 Cookie rewards you earned have also come in—be sure to ask your leader about these. Be sure to show appreciation to your troop’s cookie volunteers; they also worked hard this season. Don’t forget to show love to your cookie customers with a thank you note. Let them know what your troop is doing with their cookie funds. Have a great summer, Girl Scouts—you deserve it!

We Want to Hear from You! We’ll be working on the 2024-25 rewards program soon, and would love to know what you want to see in future cookie seasons. We kindly ask that the survey feedback come from the Girl Scouts and not their adults, even if the adult is filling it out on their behalf. Thank you! vr.girlscoutsem.org/ cookierewards24

What Happens With All That Cookie Money?

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest source of funds that allows Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri to operate and for troops to fund their activities for the year. Here’s how it breaks down for each $6 package:

$1.32: Troop proceeds and rewards

$1.50: Covers cost of cookies and all other cookie program expenses

$3.18: Supports all other council programs, including volunteer training, camps, facilities, providing leadership programs to all Eastern Missouri Girl Scouts

What you do each Cookie season matters!

Navigating the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Events Calendar

You can also search for Girl Scout programs on our website at girlscoutsem.org . The event search function can be found by hoovering over the "Activities" tab and the clicking "Event Search" from the drop-down menu. Pro Tip: make sure you are logged into your myGS account before searching.

Here you can scroll through all available programs listed by month. Once you find a program that you are interested in, click "View Details" on the right hand side. If you want to register your Girl Scout for this program, click the green "Register Now" button.

After clicking "Register Now" you will see a full description of the program, a contact person, and additional details on registration deadlines, grade levels and open spots for girls and adults. If you haven't already, you must now login to myGS at the top right-hand corner to complete registration and submit payment.
