USA Archery Level 2 Instructor

Course Description: This blended-learning course is for those who wish to serve as the lead instructor for long-term archery programs or become an archery instructor trainer for GSEM. It is more rigorous than the Level 1 course and comes with additional costs and obligations. It introduces students to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound bows, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development, and events. The six-to-seven-hour online portion found on the USA Archery website and the eight-hour in-person skills session at a GSEM camp combine the Level 1 course materials with more advanced knowledge and skills. This means that USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification is NOT a prerequisite for the Level 2 course.

This certification is valid for three years and is renewable online through USA Archery via the USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Recertification course in gsLearn. Girl Scouts 18 years and older are welcome to participate.

To receive a Level 2 certification, participants must be a registered member of USA Archery or National Field Archery Association, submit to a background screening, and complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport training on the USA Archery website. After registering for the course in gsLearn, participants will receive detailed instructions via email on navigating the USA Archery website, paying the $50 online course fee and $35 background screening fee, and completing the online portion of the course. If participants do not receive these instructions immediately after registering in gsLearn, please contact Adult Education at adulteducation@girlscoutsem.org .

Additional USA Archery online coursework and Adult Education approval are required to become a USA Archery instructor trainer for GSEM.
