Course Description: Today, in our always-on culture, it’s important that girls make a strong connection to nature and the outdoors. Getting outside and exploring nature contribute to girls’ challenge-seeking and problem-solving skills and make girls more likely to connect with and care for the environment. Learn about and participate in hands-on activities that you can share with troops of all ages. During this course we will take a short trip to Mystery Pond to use some Nature Center resources!

Outdoor Adventure Challenge New Instructor Training

Level: All

Course Description: This course is required for those who wish to become an instructor for the Outdoor Adventure Challenge Program at Camp Tuckaho. The Outdoor Adventure Challenge is GSEM’s high and low ropes weekend course experience for Girl Scouts. Participants will tackle obstacles, and then learn to facilitate each obstacle. This new instructor training is perfect for those who love adventure and helping girls to grow in confidence and teamwork. Please note in addition to the weekend training, there is an in-town review date. Food and tent lodging is provided.
