Girl Scout Lifeguard In-Service Training: All Course Description: Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Lifeguard In-Service Training is intended for registered volunteers currently certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding and who wish to lifeguard on Council properties. This training is required annually for all volunteers before they serve as a lifeguard for Girl Scouts.

Course Details: Access this course in gsLearn. If you need to take a class to maintain your Lifeguard certification, please contact the American Red Cross at 1.800.RED.CROSS (1.800.733.2767) or redcross.org.

Interested in taking your troop canoeing or sailing on a Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri lake?

Four adults with a minimum of the following training (for groups of 12 or fewer) must accompany your group:

Adult 1: Adult volunteer who has completed Girl Scouts Small Craft Safety – canoeing, sailing, and/or moving water (appropriate to the activity). Adult 2: Adult volunteer who has completed Girl Scouts Basic Water Rescue OR another adult volunteer who has completed Girl Scouts Small Craft Safety: Canoeing, Sailing, and/or Moving Water (appropriate to the activity) OR an adult volunteer who is a certified American Red Cross lifeguard who has completed the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Lifeguard In-Service Training online course.

Adult 3: Watcher (no waterfront certification required).

Adult 4: Watcher (no waterfront certification required).

Note: One of the four adults listed above must also be certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED through an organization approved by GSEM.

Interested in taking your troop swimming in a Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri pool?

Two adults with a minimum of the following training (for groups of 10 or fewer) must accompany your group:

Adult 1: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard (adult) who has taken the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Lifeguard In-Service Training.

Adult 2: Watcher (no waterfront training required)
