In September 2021, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri implemented two new enhancements to its financial assistance process for girls, designed with our families in mind. These enhancements provide new opportunities for girls who need financial assistance and make it seamless for families to apply. Activity Scholarship requests for programs costing between $10 and $50 can now be requested when families are completing their program registration online with no application required. Financial assistance requests should be completed by the individual, not the troop leader. Processing of these requests will typically occur within one business day. We ask that each participant utilize the fund for no more than 3-4 programs per year (on my honor). For programs $51 and greater, the applicant must register, pay the deposit and submit the application. Uniform Assistance Fund The Uniform Assistance Fund, introduced in 2020, makes available age-appropriate uniform pieces. Families who need assistance purchasing the uniform components that are available through the Uniform Assistance Fund: sash, troop numerals and American Flag patch and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Council identification set complete an online application. This assistance enables girls to receive uniform components that are so important to enhancing a girl’s sense of belonging and identity as a Girl Scout. Through the generous support of donors, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri can provide financial assistance to our members. Programs such as Activity Scholarships and the Uniform Assistance Fund make it possible for girls to receive financial assistance to support participation in Girl Scout program activities and camp. Financial Assistance Update NEWMARCH 2022 Troop leaders may now apply on behalf of girls in their troop who need assistance purchasing the uniform components that are available through the Uniform Assistance Fund: sash, troop numerals and American Flag patch and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Council identification set.
