District 9 Troop Leader Gloria Contreras

What are you excited about for the future with Girl Scouts?

Gloria: This is our first year as Girl Scout Brownies and I feel like there are so many more activities for the girls. I am excited that we could possibly go camping during summer 2020.

As a volunteer, how has Girl Scouts helped you expand your leadership skills and self-confidence?

Gloria: I recently started a new position with our school district, working in the elementary school. This gives me an additional opportunity to get to know the girls, their backgrounds and their unique personalities. Through Girl Scouts, I’ve learned to build strong relationships with youth. I feel like anything that I’ve been teaching the girls, now I bring back to other students at the school as well.
