ADULT COURSES

and CPR First Aid

A Girl Scout is always prepared! We want the best for our girls and staying safe is a top priority.

AMERICAN RED CROSS (ARC) COURSES A qualified First Aider with an Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certification must accompany the troop when they participate in certain activities. Check Safety Activity Checkpoints to see if a First Aider is required for your troop activity.

We recommend at least one adult volunteer per troop complete Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED training. Adult volunteers acting as First Aiders at Girl Scout activities must be certified to meet Girl Scout safety standards.

Adults are encouraged to take this course through the American Red Cross or another Council-approved agency such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI).

Some courses offered by ARC, AHA or ASHI have separate components for First Aid and CPR, with separate expiration dates. Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED are all required to be a Girl Scout First Aider.
