Lead & Learn offers a variety of valuable courses for members to build confidence, strengthen skills, and make the most of their Girl Scout volunteer experience. Whether volunteers are just beginning their journey, looking for a refresh on the Girl Scout essentials, or searching for new ideas to enhance troop meetings and activities, these courses are designed to support members every step of the way. Explore the featured courses in this edition and discover new ways to inspire Girl Scouts, grow as a leader, and create meaningful experiences.

New Courses GSUSA created two new online courses available in gsLearn this fall. Turn to pg. 51 to see full details and open each course. Behavior Management for Girl Scouts In this 35-minute course, learn proactive, inclusive strategies for behavior management at each program level that build cooperation and confidence, along with practical tips for navigating challenging behaviors in safe, supportive ways. Girl Scout Uniform Basics This 20-minute course enables volunteers to select a Girl Scout program level—Daisy through Ambassador—and receive clear, step-by-step uniform guidance for that age group. Volunteers will receive a general overview of the badges, awards, pins, and patches available for each program level uniform, their exact placement on vests, sashes, or tunics, and purchasing guidance.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Every Girl Scout deserves a trusted adult who is ready to listen, support, and help when it matters most. Youth Mental Health First Aid empowers Girl Scout volunteers, parents, and staff to recognize the signs of a mental health or substance use challenge, respond with compassion and confidence, and connect youth to the help they need. Through a nationally recognized curriculum developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, this three-year certification course provides practical tools and early intervention strategies to support youth ages 12–18 during mental health challenges.
