USA Archery Level 1 Instructor

Level: Brownie-Ambassador

This course is required for those who wish to teach beginning archery skills to Brownies through Ambassadors, on or off GSEM property. It consists of a three-to-four-hour online portion found on the USA Archery website, and a four-hour in-person skills session at one of our GSEM camps. Participants learn about range safety and setup, the steps of shooting, equipment use and repair, and how to teach beginner-level students. This certification is valid for three years and is renewable online through USA Archery via the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Recertification course in gsLearn. Girl Scouts 16 years and older are welcome to participate. After registering for the course in gsLearn, participants will receive detailed instructions via email on navigating the USA Archery website, paying the $40 fee, and completing the online portion of the course. If participants do not receive these instructions immediately after registering in gsLearn, please contact Adult Education at adulteducation@girlscoutsem.org .

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Recertification

Level: Brownie-Ambassador

This course is for those who have a current USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification and wish to recertify online. The recertification course in gsLearn contains detailed instructions for navigating the USA Archery website, paying the $40 fee and completing the self-paced, one-hour online refresher only available on the USA Archery website. After receiving a new completion certificate from USA Archery, it must be uploaded to the recertification course in gsLearn to receive credit for completion. Contact Adult Education at adulteducation@girlscoutsem.org with questions, as this recertification process is newer and may be unfamiliar. Those with an expired USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification are not eligible to recertify using the online only refresher through USA Archery. They must instead complete the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor blended learning course.
