Wilderness and Remote First Aid

Certification Course

Course Description: This certification provides individuals with a foundation of First Aid skills so they can respond to emergencies and give care in areas without immediate emergency medical response (EMS) at an activity location. This certification is required when emergency medical response (EMS) will take more than 30 minutes to arrive. Successful course completion requires participation in all course activities and skill sessions. Some activity sessions may require strenuous physical activity.

Wilderness and Remote First Aid certification is valid for two years. Financial Assistance is available. Girls 16 years of age and older are welcome to participate. Participation in both sessions is required for certification.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Certification Course

Level: All

Course Description: Given the importance of mental wellbeing in our lives and the prevalence of mental health and substance abuse challenges in youth today, we are now offering a Youth Mental Health First Aid certification course. This blended-learning course consists of a two-hour self-paced online course and a five hour in-person learning session. It uses a nationally-recognized curriculum developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to assist youth aged 12-18, and is taught by certified instructors. You won’t want to miss this powerful and highly relevant course. Participants who complete this course will receive a three-year certification through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing

Online learning assignments must be completed in full before attending the in-person session (no exceptions).
