Adult Courses, First Aid and CPR

American Red Cross (ARC) Courses A qualified First Aider with an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificationmust accompany the troop when they participate in certain activities. Visit Safety Activity Checkpoints to see if a First Aider is required for your troop activity. We recommend at least one adult volunteer per troop complete Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED/training. Adult volunteers acting as First Aiders at Girl Scout activities must be certified to meet Girl Scout safety standards. Adult volunteers may take this course through the American Red Cross or other Council-approved agency such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI). Some courses offered by ARC, AHA or ASHI have separate courses for First Aid, CPR and AED. All are required to be a Girl Scout First Aider.
