Hey, volunteers! We want to hear from you! What is your favorite Girl Scout volunteer training you have taken and why?

“I grew up camping and consider myself an experienced camper so my favorite trainings are outdoor certifications that allow me to help girls experience the outdoors, such as archery, basic water rescue, canoeing and OAC. However, my favorite training ever was Troop Camp with a Twist. This training provided me with both the classroom and “at camp” hands-on experience allowing me to confidently take my troop camping at any GSEM property; enabling the girls to learn outdoor skills and learn to enjoy what the outdoor experience offers. The best part about this training was that my daughter was able to come to camp with me and have a program with older Girl Scouts while I participated in the training.” Kimberly Cottle, District 4

“My favorite Girl Scout training was Troop Camp training. I had experienced instructors and a great bunch of leaders to work with. Despite some adverse weather during our training and waking up to snow in the morning, I really felt well prepared to take my troop camping. I appreciated the hands-on approach the trainers used and the fact that we participated in a weekend at camp, just like our girls would. I have camped many times since then and am always grateful that I had such a thorough camp training.” Linda Lindberg, District 8
