CORE CURRICULUM

ORIENTATION TO BELAYING: ALL Belaying is a physically-demanding activity used by certified zipline instructors involving a rope system to protect a climber in the event of a fall. After taking this class, you will be able to assist girls with getting into the safety equipment and up to the zipline platform. TRAINING GIRLS TO TAKE CHARGE: This is the companion course to Taking Charge of Your Troop offered in Inspire Discovery on pg. 51. It is strongly recommended troop volunteers and parents take this course to help girls and adults transition from an adult-led troop to a girl-led troop. During this course, participants learn how to help Girl Scout Cadettes and Seniors build confidence and take on leadership roles in their troop while networking with other Girl Scout Cadette and Senior advisors/leaders. Gain insight into troop government leadership roles at the Cadette and Senior levels and build skills that support girls as they take on additional leadership responsibilities.

Adults take this course while girls take the companion course, Taking Charge of Your Troop.
