Fall 2019 Lead & Learn

Welcome,Volunteers!

Dear Girl Scout Volunteers,

Fellow Volunteers,

Welcome to a new Girl Scout year and another edition of Lead & Learn ! In 2019, we embarked on our second century of Girl Scouts in eastern Missouri. Our longevity and success are made possible because of volunteers like each of you who believe in the power and impact of Girl Scouts. We are committed to ensuring every G . I . R . L . ( Go-getter , Innovator , Risk-taker and Leader ) TM in our region has the opportunity to join Girl Scouts. When a girl joins Girl Scouts she is introduced to experiences and opportunities relevant for today, enabling her to push beyond the impossible. Girl Scouts is the great connector, helping girls bridge the leadership gap as they journey into adulthood. Together, we are making great strides and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is here to support you each step of the way. Our future has never been brighter! Thank you for your continued commitment to our eastern Missouri Girl Scouts. You are preparing our G . I . R . L .s for a lifetime of leadership, adventure and success.

Welcome to the 2020 Girl Scout year! This is an exciting time to be a part of our organization with a mission focused on building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. The only way to develop our future leaders is to develop adult volunteers with those same important principles. This is accomplished by providing great resources, phenomenal trainings and access to an amazing network of fellow volunteers. Today’s leaders and assistant leaders have access to a vast amount of program materials through the Emerson Resource Center, Girl Guides and Journey books for every grade level, the Volunteer Toolkit, and of course, Marvelous Mentoring. All of these tools play an important role in building successful leaders, but none of them will ever take the place of face-to-face training and networking. Lead & Learn is an excellent avenue to find workshops and trainings for building your confidence. These courses are led by volunteers, just like you, who have lots of knowledge and experience to share and will have answers to many of your concerns. Every troop is part of a robust Neighborhood full of volunteers that want to see you succeed. Plant your roots firmly in your Neighborhood, attend the meetings and programs they have to offer, get involved and get your girls involved. None of us can do this alone, but together, we can help girls do amazing things.

Yours in Girl Scouting,

Bonnie Barczykowski, CEO
