Offered to: Grades 4-8 Roller derby is more than a full-contact sport played on roller skates—it's an empowering community dedicated to self-confidence and inclusion. During this two hour "crash" course, Girl Scouts will learn the rules of the sport from St. Louis derby stars, choose their own derby name and practice putting on bout makeup. Skaters will demonstrate game play and discuss how they stay safe and healthy on and off the track. The program will conclude with an interactive game of sock derby! No skates required. Location: Berges Family Girl Scout Program Center, 2300 Ball Dr., St. Louis 63146 Grades 2-3 Brownies are so special in their own way and it is fun to discover what makes each and every girl unique. During this program, Girl Scouts will try out new healthy foods, talk about how to distinguish between our different feelings and hear from a local professional about staying healthy. Girls learn the elements of a video game and develop their own characters and world. Girls will spend the morning building their game and developing their characters with the guidance of professional game developers. Castle Crenshaw, a.k.a. Ghost, has been running his entire life, but for all the wrong reasons. Then one day he meets Coach, an Olympic medalist who sees his unique raw talent.
