2019 November Badge Day at Craft Alliance Nov. 16 Three time slots:

Offered to: Grades 2-12 Clay (Brownie Potter Badge): Crafts made with clay have been around for thousands of years and archaeologists have found ancient clay art in our region! Girls will take steps to become an artist of clay. Min./Max. girls: 8/16 Technology (Junior Digital Photographer Badge): It seems like almost every gadget can take a digital photograph, from phones to laptops to, of course, digital cameras. After completing this badge, girls know how to maximize their digital camera and discover what it takes to capture a winning photo. Min./Max. girls: 4/8 Metalsmith (Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Metal Casting..Beyond the Badge): During this workshop, girls will carve a mold out of cuttlefish bone and pour molten pewter into the void, creating astonishing jewelry pieces. This ancient technique will serve as an introduction to the traditional world of metal casting. Min./Max. girls: 8/16 Wood (Cadette Woodworker Badge): Woodworking will give girls a great feeling of accomplishment. Plus, it is so much fun! Girl Scouts will make stylish, useful items for themselves and for others by assembling projects in wood, using simple tools and techniques. Min./Max. girls: 4/8 Textiles: Senior/Ambassador Textile Artist Badge): The textures and colors of fabrics and yarn are beautiful! Get ready to turn those visions into reality as girls meet with artists, learn about the world of textile arts and make two projects in the craft that inspires them. Min./Max. girls: 4/8 Offered to: Grades 2-5 Girls will complete the requirements for a STEM badge at this on-campus program facilitated by Washington University Alpha Phi Omega members. Girls gain new skills, make new friends and most importantly, have fun! Girl Scout Brownies earn their Sense Badge and Girl Scout Juniors earn their Detective Badge. Location: Washington University, 1 Brookings Dr., St. Louis 63130 Grades 2-3, Adults During this new program, Girl Scout Brownies discover their family and their stories utilizing the resources and expertise of the St. Louis County Public Library. Combining innovative technology and online resources, girls and an adult family member are invited to research and share their family stories. Girl Scout Brownies earn their My Family Story Badge. Location: St. Louis County Public Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis 63131 Grades K-5 Explore the vast and beautiful African plains with fellow Girl Scouts! Offered to: Grades 6-8 At Cadette Club, girls have the opportunity to meet other Cadettes from the region and participate in DIY projects, cooking challenges or team-building games. Come to just one session or plan to attend them all! This session of Cadette Club will include projects that serve the community, along with the creation of kindness rocks.
