Brownie Senses: Cryptid Explorers

During this program, Girl Scout Brownies will become cryptid investigators by using their five senses to search for legendary creatures! Girl Scouts will learn about mysterious creatures people say they have seen but scientists are still investigating—like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster.

Join us for an exciting adventure at the World Bird Sanctuary! Girl Scouts will explore the world of raptors and discover how these top predators play a vital role in ecosystems globally. Juniors will learn how the World Bird Sanctuary serves as an animal sanctuary, protecting wildlife and habitats through conservation, rehabilitations, and education. During the program, Girl Scouts will see a live demonstration, build their own animal shelters, and complete a project to educate others about the importance of protecting animal habitats.

Explore the sport of archery at Forest Park! This program will introduce Girl Scouts to safety, techniques, and fun of the sport, while also rotating through archery-related stations. Girl Scouts that have never shot archery or have only shot a few times will find this program most beneficial.

Juniors, let’s put our detective skills to work to investigate reports of strange creatures that have appeared world wide. We will become real investigators studying cryptids (Bigfoot, Mothman, Loch Ness Monster) using observation, evidence, and detective skills. Decide what is fact, fiction, or a misunderstanding.

If someone was sick or hurt, how should someone help? In this badge, Girl Scouts will find out what to do in an emergency, from calling 911 to using first aid to treat minor injuries. When the unexpected happens, Girl Scouts will be prepared!

In this program, Daisies will explore the engineering design process by creating their own board game! Girl Scouts will learn what inventors and engineers do by brainstorming, designing, and testing. Celebrate creativity and imagination by becoming a game designer!

Remember that tall tree that looks perfect for climbing? Join us at this program to feel what that’s like! Girl Scouts will be attached to a special tree-climbing harness and rope system to safely climb into a large tree. All equipment and instructions are provided, and no previous skills necessary.
