2026 Summer Inspire Discovery

State Park Adventures

The biggest Girl Scout outdoor event, Girl Scouts Love State Parks, is back!

All participants receive the GSLSP patch!

Girl Scouts love the outdoors, especially our state parks! Girl Scouts Love State Parks is an annual event dedicated to showcasing the stunning beauty of state parks and Girl Scouts’ passion for exploring the great outdoors. This September, head out to a local state park to participate in self-guided tours, family hikes, stargazing, and more! Ready for an adventure? Girl Scouts, their families, and troops can choose how they want to participate! Whether choosing to explore on their own or sleeping under the stars with Council, let’s dive into the great outdoors and make new memories!

Want to earn the Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch but not sure where to start? Sign up for this patch program to earn the patch, individually or as a troop! Participants will receive: • A list of state parks in GSEM’s jurisdiction and the activities they will offer on this weekend for Girl Scouts • General activities participants can do at each park • A patch mailed directly to Girl Scouts’ home To receive the patch in the mail, participants will be asked to complete a simple survey telling us which park they intend to visit and which activities they hope to do.

We are excited to offer a family camping experience on the Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend this year! Girl Scouts can bring up to four family members to the Cuivre River State Park group camping area to enjoy the company of other Girl Scout families. We will have a communal dessert and do a few fun optional activities. Each family will be responsible for bringing their own personal belongings and can either bring their own tent or borrow one from council (limited rentals). Families will bring and cook their own food, but may use the communal fire. If there is a camping item(s) families don’t have and are unable to secure, please reach out to ask about borrowing items!
