Troop Camping and Outdoor Skills Volunteers who wish to take their troops camping on or off Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri property are required to be troop camp certified. To view the full list of troop camping courses, check out Lead & Learn online at girlscoutsem.org.

F.R.O.G.s (Friendly Resource Options Guide) Training Level: All Date: March 8, 9 am-12:30 pm Location: Tuckaho 63379 Cost: $0 This course qualifies volunteers to be Friendly Resource Options Guides (F.R.O.G.s) at the Anheuser-Busch Nature Center at Camp Tuckaho. Volunteers gain knowledge they need to access and use the exclusive supplies and activities that are unavailable to casual visitors at the Nature Center. Register for this course in gsLearn.

Troop Camp A-Z Certification Course Level: All Cost: $27

Enjoy an exhilarating two days at one of our beautiful camps as volunteers become troop camp certified. Participants must attend the three-hour in-town session to prepare for the at-camp learning experience. Register for this course in gsLearn. Prerequisite : Troop Camping at GSEM online course and thoroughly reading the Troop Camp Information Packet (TCIP).

Getting outside and exploring nature contributes to Girl Scouts’ challenge-seeking and problem-solving skills and makes Girl Scouts more likely to connect with and care for the environment. Learn about and participate in hands on activities that volunteers can share with troops of all ages. During this course, we will take a short trip to Mystery Pond to use some Nature Center resources! Register for this course in gsLearn.

Cooking for Crowds at Camp Certification Course Level: All Date: May 10, 9:30 am-2:30 pm Location: Tuckaho 63379 Cost: $8 This course is required for adult volunteers who wish to use dining hall kitchens at GSEM camps. Participants learn policies and procedures for operating and cleaning the facilities, equipment, and appliances. Register for this course in gsLearn.
