2025 Camp Adventure Guide
Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who are interested in beginning their Gold Award can get a headstart this summer during the Go For Gold workshop! Then in the fall, Girl Scouts will use what they have learned to solve a problem in their community (and bring smiles to those around them) to make a lasting change. Get Ready to Go For Gold
Go For Gold Grades 8-11 for the 2024-2025 school year Date: Aug. 6, 9:30 am-3:30 pm Location: Berges Family Program Center 63146 Cost: $20
Join Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri for a fun day of learning about the Girl Scout Gold Award. Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to:
•
Participate in Gold Award training
• Meet the Gold Award committee volunteers who will help throughout the process • Listen to a panel of previous Gold Award Girl Scouts • Network with the other Girl Scouts in the region • Spend time brainstorming and researching options for a project
All Girl Scouts are eligible to earn this prestigious award, regardless if they earned the Silver Award as a Cadette. Please note that this is an expanded version of the required Gold Award training, therefore, if a Girl Scout attends this workshop, they will not have to attend additional training.
Highest Award Projects at Camp
Girl Scouts make the world a better place and the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards can help them do that! The Highest Awards will help Girl Scouts identify a need in the community, the root cause of the issue and how to create a plan to make a sustainable change. Interested in completing a Highest Award project at camp? Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri welcomes Girl Scouts and troops interested in doing a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award project that will benefit the camp community. Submitting Highest Award Project Plans for Girl Scout Camp Before beginning any project plans, please visit girlscoutsem.org/highestawards to submit a project request form. Girl Scouts may not begin the project until approval is granted. Requests are reviewed monthly by council staff. We want to ensure all projects meet the standards for the awards, and multiple Girl Scouts are not working to address the same issue. If approval is granted, the Girl Scout(s) will be connected with a contact at camp and receive directions on how to proceed.
